“It’s not something small, especially with how costly things are now. There are always rice, tomato paste, milk, macaroni and other food items inside the bag. It is not little at all and we thank God that before things even got expensive Jimi Benson has been doing this at his federal constituency.

“I’m happy that he has not stopped even when things become expensive. It shows that he is a good man who makes everything to be okay for his people. So, that’s why we are always supporting him,” the APC chieftain said.

Otunba Adebayo Lawson, Chairman, APC Ikorodu West LGA, who also spoke with our reporter also commended the sustenance of the initiative.

“The food distribution has been going on since 2015, and it has been a very great experience for our people, feeding 500 households every month. He has never missed a month since 2015. And, we celebrated its 10th year anniversary last year, when about 5,000 food bags were distributed to households in Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

“It is usually more than 500 bags on some special days like World Food Day and others. Our representative is doing that to relieve a lot of households on feeding; a very supportive initiative to his constituents. Considering these hard times that we are in across the globe, especially with the economic reforms that are going on, it is an initiative that is welcome. The food support provided is really cushioning for the people,” he said.

Some of the beneficiaries who also spoke with THE IMPACT also commended the federal lawmaker.

Mrs Romoke Adewale from Ijede who attended the distribution for the first time, thanked and prayed for the donor.

“I am so happy about this gesture, because it is going to fix some things for me. What I want to say to him is that, may God also locate help to him.”

A resident of Imota, Mr Elisha Ologunde, who has been benefitting from the lawmaker’s gesture also offered him prayers for his good works.

“Jimi Benson has been doing good and God’s work. He has been supportive, and I pray that by the grace of God his hands will continue to move higher.”

“I really want to express my happiness for him, but I am the kind of person that cannot really talk much because I lack the strength, but God will continue to manifest my unspoken words in his life.
